Deviousness |
The icon is very detailed, but is in a completely different style than the typeface. That's not to big of a problem if there is a solid hierarchy in place, but therein lies the flaw.
The drop-shadow isn't to bad, but it does place the text on a closer z-axis than the icon. Once again this isn't a big problem if the hierarchy is in place, but it isn't. Since the high-detail icon is set at a negative z-axis and has a direct height relationship to the surrounding text, the focus is lost.
My suggestion to make this far more powerful—and memorable—to the audience is decrease the size of the text to match the height of the triangle while maintaining the same baseline.
